That is why American Excelsior Company, the inventor of biodegradable ECBs, manufactures straw, coconut, and excelsior EBCs. Our AEC Premier Blanket manufacturing process starts with choosing only top quality, organic, weed seed free, agricultural straw fibers or top quality strands of coconut fiber.

pc_straw_4AEC Premier Coconut ECBs are designed for mid to long-term erosion protection and vegetation establishment on slopes, channels, and shorelines. The AEC Premier Coconut ECB will provide a longer life, degradable ECB for severe applications or where special grasses need long-term protection. These Premier products have longer duration photodegradable, UV enhanced nettings on both sides. Our FibreNet™- 100% jute netting - is available for environmentally sensitive areas while maintaining performance standards.

Material Characteristics


AEC Premier Coconut ECBs are degradable ECBs consisting of the highest quality strands of coconut fiber. The Coconut ECB can provide longer erosion protection life up to 36 months depending on job site conditions. Lightweight and easy to handle, you can rely on AEC Premier Coconut ECBs to provide a high degree of erosion protection and longer life than single or double net straw ECBs.


Our 100% Coconut Erosion Control blankets are degradable and will provide a longer life for severe applications or where special grasses need long-term protection.They utilize netting on both sides with higher UV stability than regular ECB's.

They are used in areas such as Utility Transmission Rights-of-Way, Landfill Construction, Highway Construction, Urban Drainage and Slope Stabilization.
